The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education, Union Territory of J&K, has issued a circular regarding the updation of subject/s, photograph, and signature of candidates in Higher Secondary Part-I (Class 11th) for the current academic session 2023-24. This follows a previous circular dated 26th December, 2023, with the latest notification extending the deadline for submission.

The circular, numbered F(JSE/upd/sbjs/KD)B/KD/23, dated 26th December, 2023, had initially set the deadline for the submission of cases for updation from an unspecified start date to 26th January, 2024. However, in the latest notification, the board has decided to extend this deadline from 24th January, 2024, to 31st January, 2024.

Importantly, the extension comes with a financial implication for candidates. The board has specified a fine of Rs 500/- per candidate (Rupees Five Hundred) only for submissions made during this extended period. This underscores the importance of adhering to the original deadline and encourages candidates to complete the necessary updation within the stipulated timeframe.

The extension of the deadline may offer relief to candidates who require additional time to gather and submit the required information. It is crucial for students, parents, and educational institutions to take note of this update and ensure compliance with the revised timeline.

Candidates are urged to promptly initiate the process of updating their subject/s, photograph, and signature to avoid any inconvenience or additional financial burden associated with the imposed fine. Timely compliance will not only ensure the smooth progression of administrative processes but also contribute to the overall efficiency of the education system in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

the Jammu and Kashmir Board’s decision to extend the deadline for the updation of candidate details reflects a commitment to accommodating the needs of students in the region. This serves as a reminder for all stakeholders to stay informed about such updates and adhere to the specified timelines for a streamlined academic experience.
