JKBOSE Announces National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Examination Date

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has announced the date for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) Examination 2023-24. The centrally sponsored scholarship scheme will be held on July 8, 2024 (Monday) across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for all eligible candidates who have applied for the same.

The exam will consist of two papers: Paper I (Mental Ability Test) and Paper II (Scholarship Ability Test). Both papers will be 90 minutes each and carry 90 marks. Paper I will be held from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm and Paper II will be held from 01.00 pm to 02.30 pm.

The Centre Notice for the examination will be available on the JKBOSE official website https://jkbose.nic.in/ prior to the date of examination.

Who is eligible for the NMMSS scholarship?

The NMMSS scholarship is a central government scholarship scheme for students studying in government, government-aided and local body schools. Students studying in Class VIII are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

How to apply for the NMMSS scholarship?

Students can apply for the NMMSS scholarship through their schools. The schools will forward the applications to the JKBOSE.

What is the selection process for the NMMSS scholarship?

The selection for the NMMSS scholarship will be done on the basis of a merit list prepared by the JKBOSE based on the marks obtained in the NMMSS exam.

What is the amount of the NMMSS scholarship?

The amount of the NMMSS scholarship is Rs. 12,000 per year. The scholarship is awarded for a maximum period of four years, i.e., from Class IX to XII.
